BEAVER CREEK, Colo. -- A momma bear and her cubs relocated after breaking into homes in the Beaver Creek area have returned.The bear family was originally accused of breaking into two homes, apparently looking for food. The Division of Wildlife caught the bears and relocated them to an area south of Silt -- about 70 miles away -- just before the Fourth of July.DOW agents hoped the bears would find food there and stay there.
Less than two weeks later, the same three bears have been spotted in Beaver Creek again.Meanwhile a fourth bear is thought to have broken into six homes. The sixth break-in occurred last weekend.The 300-pound bear tore the door off a home with people inside on Saturday in Beaver Creek. The bear was apparently searching for food.Division of Wildlife officers tracked that male bear down and killed it.Randy Hampton with the Division of Wildlife told 7NEWS bears are going where the trash is. He said many Dumpsters in Beaver Creek are overflowing and that is attracting the bears.
