UPDATED: 5:23 pm MDT July 14, 2008

Authorities in Douglas County released a composite sketch of one of two men who fired a deputies after a burglary last month.

The sketch was made with the help of a witness who told investigators that he saw the suspect on the day of the burglary and shooting.

It is believed that this person is white, in his early 20s and has blonde hair.

Authorities said the two men should be considered armed and dangerous.

Manhunt Shuts Down Neighborhood

The shooting led to a manhunt that forced many residents to stay in their homes.

Deputies said they tried to stop the men on June 28 after getting a report of a burglary in a Castle Rock subdivision. The sheriff's office said the suspects fled in their vehicle and shot at deputies, hitting their cars.

One deputy suffered shrapnel injuries to his arm and was treated and then released from a hospital.

The gunmen got out of their car and ran into a wooded area. Nearby residents were warned to stay in their homes, lock their doors and windows.

After several hours of searching, deputies found no sign of the men.

They scaled down their search Saturday afternoon and reopened closed streets.
