Teen Charged With Attempted Murder In Silverthorne Stabbing

SILVERTHORNE, Colo. -- A teen was airlifted to a Denver hospital over the weekend after being stabbed in the chest at a party in Silverthorne. The knife broke off in the victim's chest, according to police.Three people were arrested and charged, including Travis Hanush, 18, who is being held for investigation of attempted second-degree murder and first-degree assault.Silverthorne police officers were called to 192 Robin Court just before midnight Saturday on a possible assault. Officers noticed blood on the porch, and several people scrubbing floors inside, said public information officer Veronica Nicholas in a news release.
Officers were afraid someone was hurt so they tried to get into the house but the man who lived there -- 18-year-old Matthew Thomas -- refused to let officers inside the house, she said. After he was taken into custody and officers walked into the house and arrested Daniel Julian. Julian, 29, was spotted cleaning up the blood.Witnesses told police that they were at the residence for a party, when Hanush and the victim got into an argument about money.Hanush is accused of stabbing the juvenile, and fleeing through the back door. He was captured early Sunday morning.The victim's friends took him away from the home, and were later met by Frisco police officers, police said. He was later taken to Summit Medical Center, and then flown to Denver by Flight for Life.There are no details on the victim's condition.Julian is accused of tampering with evidence and obstructing a police officer. Thomas will face a charge of obstructing a police officer.
