COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- A Fort Carson soldier who recently completed his second tour of duty in Iraq said he shot and wounded a man who tried to steal his car. Police were searching for the wounded man, who was picked up by a man in another car and driven away. Ben Jackson said he stood in front of his car and ordered the would-be thief to get out. He says he fired two shots from a .40 pistol and hit the man once when the man tried to run him over.
Springs police said the man was picked up by a man in a black 1999 Acura Integra with chrome wheels and tinted windows. A search is under way.
