Denver police arrested a man they say is responsible for stabbing a 61-year-old man.

Darren Contreras, 42, turned himself into the police station on Cherokee Street without incident, said Denver police spokesman Detective John White.

Contreras will be held for investigation of first-degree murder, White said.

The victim, Ruben Delatorres, was stabbed and killed on July 2.
