Pedestrian Dies In Northglenn Crosswalk

Police: Driver Of Pickup Arrested In Case

A Northglenn man was hit and killed Wednesday evening while crossing a street.

Police were called to the intersection of Malley Drive and Highline Drive at 8:27 p.m., and found Neal Eke, 55, laying in the crosswalk. He was transported to Denver Health Medical Center, where he died.

Police identified the driver of the pickup truck involved as Joel Smith, 24, of Thornton, Colo. Smith was arrested for investigation of vehicular homicide, failure to yield to a pedestrian and driving under the influence. He was booked into the Adams County Jail.
