The Colorado State Patrol said two men died after their pickup truck collided with a train in southeast Colorado.

The crash happened around 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, just east of Rocky Ford in Otero County.

Troopers said a 2002 Ford F150 pickup was on Otero County Road 20.5 when it failed to stop for the train at a marked railroad crossing and struck a BNSF train.

The truck rolled once, ejecting the two men. Their bodies came to rest approximately 250 feet from the point of impact.

The victims were identified by the State Patrol as Fred Grano, 57, of Rocky Ford, and Theodore Torres, 35, of La Junta.

Authorities are awaiting toxicology test results to determine whether alcohol or drugs may have been factors in the crash.
