Workers In The 80202 ZIP Code Could Get $100

DENVER -- Drivers who work in downtown Denver could earn a $100 Visa gift card for using an alternative mode of transportation for at least 15 days August.The Get Downtown UnCONVENTIONally program was created by the Downtown Denver Partnership through a $173,000 federal grant."With the 2008 Democratic National Convention taking place in Downtown in the last week of August, we thought this would be the perfect time to encourage people to try a new way to get Downtown," said Tamara Door, President & CEO of the Downtown Denver Partnership
Participants must work 20 hours or more a week, work within the 80202 ZIP code and must be regularly driving alone to work.Each time they use the bus, bicycle, walk, carpool or telecommute they must enter it in an online log. Those who do that for at least 15 days will be mailed a $100 Visa gift card at the beginning of September.Workers who already leave their cars at home can take part in the Unconventional Commuters program.
