DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. -- Surveillance video taken from a June 11 robbery at the Circle K convenience store on Wolfensberger Road shows two armed men working together to get away with cash."Any time we have military weapons or assault weapons, in this case, ballistic vests, that's always going to be a concern," Lt. Alan Stanton, spokesman for the Douglas County Sheriff's Dept. said.Early Saturday morning, a home burglary call in the Silver Heights subdivision east of Interstate 25 led to a chase and several shots fired at two sheriff's vehicles.
One of the deputies was hit and taken to Sky Ridge Medical Center. He has since been released and is recovering.Investigators think the suspects in both incidents are the same."The investigation's been non-stop since (Saturday's) incident. And that will continue. These individuals need to be apprehended. It's that much of a concern," Lt. Stanton said. They're hoping the video will prompt someone to step forward with key information. The suspects are young, white men. One or both may have blonde hair. One may speak with a British accent, they said.If you have any information call the Douglas County Sheriff's Dept. at 303-660-7579.
