Father Of Girl Killed In Gang Crossfire Enters Plea

Leo Cisneros Charged With Child Abuse Resulting In Death

The man who's daughter was killed when she was caught in the crossfire of a shootout at their home has entered a not guilty plea in her death.

Leo Cisneros, 29, was in Denver District Court Friday morning to answer charges of child abuse resulting in death.

His 10-year-old daughter, Auralia Cisneros, died after she was hit by gunfire exchanged between Cisneros and several men outside the west Denver apartment on Nov. 29, 2007.

The gunmen were attempting to take a large amount of marijuana that they thought was in the apartment.

Police said at least 15 shots were exchanged between Cisneros and the other gunmen.

Trevi Trujillo and Manuel Talamantes face charges of felony murder and attempted aggravated robbery in the case, but police said Cisneros fired the fatal shot that hit his daughter.

Although Talamantes wasn't involved in the shooting, prosecutors allege he planned the home invasion to steal marijuana from Cisneros.
