BOULDER, Colo. -- A CU fraternity house shut down for health and safety violations will remain closed until it comes into compliance, the Boulder Daily Camera reported Wednesday. The Pi Kappa Alpha house was ordered closed last week because of overflowing toilets, inoperable smoke detectors and loose garbage. The three-story building also has electrical problems. The house, at 11th Street and University Avenue, could remain closed for 30 days or more, a code enforcement supervisor for the city of Boulder told the newspaper.
Inspectors found feces overflowing from toilets onto the floor, a strong smell of urine and vomit throughout the hallways, broken glass and walls with holes punched in them, the Daily Camera reported.
