Women Kidnapped, Forced To Withdraw Funds, Police Say
Three Men Sought In Crimes

DENVER -- The Denver Police Department warned Southeast Denver residents about four kidnappings and robberies that have occurred over the past 10 weeks.Each of the victims have been women, according to police."We're concerned someone is going to resist, that somebody could be hurt," said Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson.
The armed men approached the victims as the women were getting out of or were near their vehicles, Jackson explained. The men then demanded the women get back in the car and drive to an ATM machine.That's when the women were forced to make withdrawals from their accounts, according to Jackson.None of the victims have been physically harmed.Jackson said the men face charges of kidnapping, carjacking and robbery.The crimes have occurred between 8 p.m. and midnight. In some of the cases, there have been two men seen and in other cases -- three.The attacks occured in the same apartment complex in the 8500 and 8100 blocks of East Fairmount and the 9100 block of E. Mississippi, according to police."Absolute fear" is how a neighbor near one of the locations described her emotion to the incidents."It scares me. I'm single and it's just telling me to be very aware of my surroundings," said the woman, who wished only to be identified as Debbie.Denver police provided the following descriptions of the men:Suspect 1: Black man, 22 to 29 years old, 5 foot 10 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds, with brown eyes, black hair, slim build, wearing a large black hooded sweatshirt.Suspect 2: Black man, 18 to 21 years old, 5 foot 9 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds, with brown eyes, black hair, slim build, wearing blue ski jacket.Suspect 3: Black man, 18 to 21 years old, 5 foot 9 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds, with brown eyes, black hair, wearing a black ski jacket. There seems to be a label or tape on the right cuff of the jacketPolice said the men were reportedly armed with a handgun.Denver police are asking people to be extra vigilant in assessing their surroundings and pay close attention to people who are unfamiliar to them in the area.Look out for your neighbor and call the police if you suspect something criminal happening.If you have information concerning the crimes that have already occurred, call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7876).
