DENVER -- Frontier Airlines is reporting it has reached a tentative agreement with the Teamsters Union for temporary wage and benefit cuts while the airline reorganizes under bankruptcy protection. Frontier said Tuesday the concessions will be put to the union membership for a vote. The union represents about 430 mechanics, tool-room employees and others. Last week, pilots and dispatchers unions ratified concessions.
Denver-based Frontier filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last month, saying a credit-card processing company sought to hold back more money from ticket sales. The carrier also has been struggling with high fuel costs and aggressive competition. Top executives also have made wage and benefits concessions of up to 20 percent.
