DENVER -- Two people were rushed to the hospital Wednesday evening after their car was hit by a dump truck working on the T-REX expansion project on Interstate 25, 7NEWS reported.
The victims, who have not been identified, are listed in critical condition at Denver Health Medical Center with head injuries, the television station said. One of the victims is believed to be one month pregnant, a Denver police officer told 7NEWS.
The incident occurred just after 9 p.m. on Yale near I-25. Denver police say that the dump truck may have lost its brakes when it was coming down the offramp from northbound I-25 near Yale.
Witnesses say the truck went through the red light on Yale and crashed into a sports car with two people inside.
Yale and the offramp from I-25 was shut down while officers investigated the incident.
