DOUGLAS PASS, Colo. -- The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a truck crash on Colorado 139 over Douglas Pass.State troopers told 7NEWS a truck carrying frozen foods for convenience stores crashed at about 6:45 a.m. Tuesday.The truck left a skid mark of nearly 200 feet before it hit the guard rail. The guard rail was able to prevent the truck from going over the side of the roadway.
When law enforcement and rescue personnel arrived at the scene, they couldn't find the driver of the truck.It's believed someone gave the driver a ride to Rangely. Dispatchers tracked him down to a hotel there.State troopers said they believe the driver was probably going too fast, the speed limit in that area for truckers is 20 miles per hour.
