COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- How long does it take for a burglar to get in your home, steal your stuff and get out?A TV station in Colorado Springs found out it can be done in less than three minutes.KKTV asked an ex-con to break into a home with the homeowner's permission.
In just 2 minutes and 54 seconds, he made away with six credit cards, a gun, laptop, digital camera, jewelry, two iPods and other valuable items.After he burglarized the home, he drove off in one of the homeowner’s cars. The keys had been left by the front door.The burglar got into the house through an unlocked basement window.The homeowner was surprised the cook didn't take the TV or DVD player. He was upset that the burglar grabbed the credit cards.The ex-con agreed to help the TV station with the demonstration to teach homeowners how to protect themselves.To see the demonstration, visit KKTV's Web site.
