VAIL, Colo. -- Gas prices in Colorado's high country are hitting $4 a gallon and climbing.AAA-Colorado has a Web site that updates the average price of gasoline in thousands of cities across the United States, including 10 in Colorado.The average price of regular unleaded in Vail, Colo., is now $4.03 a gallon. That's up 5 cents from Thursday and 57 cents from a year ago.
Mid-grade in Vail is averaging $4.31, premium is $4.50 and diesel is $4.70 a gallon.All those prices are new record highs.Gas prices in Aspen are typically higher than Vail, but AAA doesn't track gas prices in Aspen.Here are some of the other average prices around Colorado:Glenwood Springs, regular unleaded $3.96, diesel $4.64 Durango, regular unleaded $3.83, diesel $4.40 Grand Junction, regular unleaded $3.76, diesel $4.44 Greeley, regular unleaded $3.69, diesel $4.32 Colorado Springs, regular unleaded $3.65, diesel $4.31 Denver, regular unleaded $3.65, diesel $4.33
