'Bachelor' Dumps Coloradan, Proposes To Actress

Durango's Chelsea Leaves Broken Hearted

Colorado's own Chelsea was rejected by Matt Grant on the finale of "The Bachelor: London Calling."

Chelsea was one of 25 women who started on the show to win the heart of the British bachelor.

She outlasted 23 other women to make it to the final two.

In the final episode, Chelsea and actress Shayne met Matt's family in England.

According to ABC's episode recap, Matt's brother Simon admitted to being "taken" with Chelsea. Matt and his mother were both convinced of Chelsea's sincerity. When she left, Matt said he didn't want her to go as he was feeling more connected to her than ever.

Shayne was very nervous when she arrived. Matt's brother Simon was taken aback at first by her bleached blonde hair and what he considered mere "puppy love," but his opinion of Shayne changed favorably over lunch.

Matt's mother Trish told Shayne that she felt comfortable with her.

After the women left, Matt talked to his family about both. His mother and father found Shayne more sincere than Chelsea, but Simon said he could easily see Matt with Chelsea.

Matt left London and once again met the women in Barbados for a final date.

Matt and Chelsea took a helicopter ride to a private beach where they shared a picnic and kissed and cuddled.

Matt assured her he was falling for her. Privately, he said that Chelsea had everything he was looking for and that she's "incredible."

The next day, Matt went parasailing with Shayne. That night she gave him a present, a stuffed monkey she bought in London. He told her "without a doubt, I'm falling in love with you."

Matt picked out a ring and then came the finale scene between each woman and Matt.

First, Chelsea arrived in the limo.

According to ABC's episode recap, Matt told Chelsea he started falling for her a long time ago, in Vegas. He thanked her for all the amazing times they shared, but then he told her he didn't see her as his life partner, partly because it's been a rocky road for them.

He said, "I'm sorry you're not the one, because you're incredible. "

Chelsea took her hands back and said she didn't have any regrets but she couldn't believe she fell for someone who didn't fall for her.

As she drove away in the limo she told the cameras, "He's a fool, he is a fool."

Then Shayne arrived in the limo.

Matt told he he remembered being impressed by her "million-dollar smile" and that at first she seemed too good to be true.

Then he got down on his knees and said "Shayne Lamas, I love you."

He took the 2.85-carat Tacori platinum diamond and said "Monkey, will you marry me?"

Shayne said "Oh my God, yes!"

Then said, "I will marry you under one condition, that you never look at another woman for the rest of our lives. Because you have looked at far too many during our relationship." He agreed and they kissed.

Since the show was taping, the couple have secretly met several times at a house in Palm Springs, Calif. where they relaxed, played board games and watched TV. Shayne is reportedly terrible at Trivial Pursuit.

The couple has yet to set a wedding date.

Next week, DeAnna Pappas returns as "The Bachelorette" to choose from among 25 bachelors in her own bid for true love. Pappas was one of the final two women on the finale of "The Bachelor" last November. In the end, that "Bachelor" didn't select either woman -- a first in "Bachelor" history.
