Snow Causes Power Outages In Mountains

UPDATED: 1:45 pm MDT May 13, 2008

Power outages have shut down four schools in Bailey and Evergreen Tuesday.

Platte Canyon High School and Fitzsimmons Middle School in Bailey and Marshdale Elementary School and Parmallee Elementary School in Evergreen are closed because of a power outage caused by Tuesday's snow storm.

Buses are running to take the kids home that were enroute or already at the schools. If parents are home, the children will be dropped off.

If parents are not home the buses will take the kids to the West Transportation Department where the students will stay until their parents can come and get them.

The West Transportation Dept. building is 7000 S. Hwy 73 in South Evergreen, next to Marshdale Elementary.
