Fisherman Drowns In Horsetooth Reservoir

LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. -- A fisherman drowned Monday in the north end of Horsetooth Reservoir.Witnesses say the fisherman was attempting to moor his boat in Satanika Cove when the mooring came loose. He swam out toward the boat, but could not reach it.Witnesses tell Larimer County deputies he went under as he tried to swim back to shore and they pulled him out of the water.
He was flown by medical helicopter to the Medical Center of the Rockies, but did not survive.The Larimer County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the fisherman as Richard P. Weisel, 54.An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
