PUEBLO, Colo. -- A 17-year-old man was arrested in connection with a slaying in Colorado Springs Saturday.

Police said they were called to a shooting at E. Northern Avenue around 12:30 a.m. Saturday and found 28-year-old Carl Eugene Quintana lying on the sidewalk, reported KRDO.com.

Quintana was taken to St. Mary Corwin Hospital where he died, police said.

The teenage shooter was taken into custody shortly after the shooting when a SWAT team surrounded a home on East Third Street.

He is being held with no bond on charges of first-degree homicide.

Police said the shooter and Quintana were partying at Quintana's home when a gang-related fight broke out. The fight went outside, where police said shots were fired.

Investigators believe the teen hid the 9 mm semi-automatic handgun. Police are still searching for it.
