Border officers in El Paso using fingerprinting technology stopped two men wanted in deaths in Colorado and Kansas.

The apprehensions came as the suspects were trying to enter the United States on foot over the Bridge of the Americas.

Miguel Roberto Rangel Zubia of Chihuahua City, Mexico, 21, was picked up Tuesday. The Integrated Automated Fingerprint Index System matched him to an aggravated vehicular homicide warrant from 1988 out of Reno County, Kansas.

Ricardo Esequiel Llamas of Aurora, Colorado, was stopped Wednesday. The 38-year-old man is wanted in Adams County, Colo., on charges of first-degree murder and first-degree assault with a deadly weapon.

Both suspects were turned over to El Paso police.
