Denver, Aurora Water Restrictions Begin Thursday

No Watering Allowed From 10 A.M.- 6 P.M.

Denver and Aurora Water begin their annual summer watering restrictions Thursday, May 1.

Both utilities ban watering from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Denver Water will allow users to water three days a week, any days they choose.

Aurora Water allows users to water three days a week, but the days are chosen by the last digit of your address. Even-numbered single family, duplex, triplex and fourplex accounts may water on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. Odd-numbered addresses for single family, duplex, triplex and fourplex accounts may water on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. All other accounts may water on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Denver Water also requires malfunctioning sprinkler heads and sprinkler lines be repaired in a timely manner.

This year Denver Water is stepping up enforcement with roving water monitors.

Customers seen breaking the watering rules will be warned.

If there is a second violation, customers will receive a $50 fine.

A third violation is a $100 fine.

Continued violations can result in suspension of service.

Denver Water told 7NEWS customers will receive a brochure in the mail by next week that provides instructions for the 2008 Summer Water Use Program and gives helpful information for determining the correct amount of water for healthy landscapes.

The watering rules are in effect May 1 to Sept. 1.

The city said if you see water waste at city parks, call 311 and it will get the problem fixed right away.
