LOVELAND, Colo. -- The commute from Northglenn to Resurrection Christian School in Loveland just got easier for one teacher, thanks to a surprise gift from a group of students.Steve Woodall, a fifth-grade teacher at the school, used to drive a 19-year-old Honda with 185,000 miles on it, but Thursday, students presented Woodall with a new-to-him minivan.Five students worked on the project to secure Woodall the car through Weld County Garage.
It all started when a few students noticed his car and told their teacher they’d be embarrassed to drive that car, Woodall said.“That was a blessing for them to reach out to me like that,” Woodall said.Woodall and his wife are foster parents to a 3-month-old baby and a 5-month-old baby, which is part of the reason why Weld County Garage donated the 1997 van.Woodall and his wife have taken in more than a dozen drug babies in the last few years.
