Bridge Over I-25 To Reopen
First Stretch Of I-25 To Reopen In August
The Franklin Street bridge was scheduled to reopen over Interstate 25 Tuesday, eight months after it was torn down as part of the highway expansion project.
The bridge was among seven that will be rebuilt over I-25 to fit the widened highway and light rail transit line below them.
The $1.7 billion, five-year T-REX project will widen Interstates 25 and 225 and add light rail lines.
In August, the first stretch of mainline highway will open on northbound I-25 from the Quincy Avenue overpass to the Hampden Avenue interchange.
The Steele Street bridge is scheduled to reopen in August, and a temporary pedestrian bridge there will be removed.
T-REX is scheduled for completion in September 2006.
