COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The family of a 22-year-old woman missing since last week fears she may be dead after her boyfriend killed himself when officers stopped by the couple's apartment to check on her.Family members flew in from New York and Maryland to aid in the search for Becki Elshani.Volunteers and family gathered in Woodland Park at 10 a.m. Sunday to begin the sixth day of searching.
"We're just going to go where people are leading and where they have a strong sense," Shpresi Elshani, Becki's sister, told KRDO. "We want answers, we want closure and we want to know where she is." In an interview with The Gazette last week, Agim Elshani said she believes it's just a matter of time before the body of her daughter is found. Daniel Dereere died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Monday. Family said the couple's relationship had been marred by violence and that Dereere may have feared Elshani was seeing her ex-husband. Elshani is white, 5 feet 5 inches tall, 110 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes. Anyone with information can call Colorado Springs police at (719) 444-7557.
