DENVER -- The cold front that brought about a chilly Thursday has now moved east.Thursday's high temperatures were only in the upper 40s and low 50s, about 20 to 25 degrees cooler than Wednesday. The storm brough cool temperatures but very little precipitation to the state. Fort Collins saw most of the Front Range snow, with nearly 2 inches early Thursday morning.Breezy conditions and clouds remained the rule through early Friday, but will clear out as the day moves on and allow temperatures to climb to near 50.
The first half of the weekend will be beautiful with highs in the 60s on Saturday. By Saturday afternoon, the winds will pick up ahead of the next storm. Temperatures will once again drop into the 40s and 50s with a chance of snow and rain on Sunday. Here is a look at some Front Range snow totals from Thursday's storm:2.7 inches - Ward 2.0 inches - Conifer 1.9 inches - Estes Park 1.5 inches - Loveland .5 inches - Lyons .5 inches - GreeleyYou might have spring fever, but Denver could use the snow. After last weekend's small storm, Denver has received 4.4 inches of snow, which is well below average. On average, Denver receives more than 11 inches of snow during the month of March. With the first of April early next week, Colorado wasn't the only quieter than normal area in terms of weather. The southeast and midwest enjoyed a relatively quiet month from severe weather after one of the busiest and deadliest starts in recent memory. In 2007, March was very busy for severe weather, including the outbreak responsible for the Holly tornado. As March wraps up, a busier pattern will set up across the central US and may lead to several episodes of severe weather late in the weekend and midway through next week.Stay with 7News for all the weather details!
