If you're needing information on swim lessons for the kids or perhaps summer camp, you need a copy of Kids' Pages Magazine." It's the brain child of this week's 7Everyday Hero, Ellen Blair, and this magazine helps thousands of families in need.

Ellen Blair didn't necessarily intend to become a magazine publisher, but 14 years and many issues later, Kids’ Pages is making quite a statement.

It goes out to 100,000 families in the Denver metro area, from Castle Rock to Longmont. The first edition was a simple newsletter that highlighted fun and educational activities for kids and families. Soon after, the magazine featured full color, several regional editions, and something very special.

The magazine became a nonprofit in 2002, and since then they have given out $1 million worth of new clothing, sports scholarships, coats, glasses, medical care and dental care to about 10,000 local children. The magazine is free, and the money from the ads goes to families who need a helping hand.

All of this was impressive enough to catch the eye of the Federal Government. Ellen has received the prestigious Above and Beyond award. All of this from a mom who dreamed of helping families who were experiencing hard times.
