CU's Delta Chi Expelled After Estes Park Arrests

BOULDER, Colo. -- A fraternity has been expelled from the University of Colorado-Boulder, a month after nine pledges were arrested for allegedly trashing at an Estes Park motel during a weekend retreat.According to the Boulder Daily Camera newspaper, CU's Interfraternity Council officials announced the expulsion Monday, about a week after the national headquarters of Delta Chi said it would put the Boulder chapter on probation until spring 2009.Delta Chi was temporarily suspended after the Feb. 17 arrests.
Estes Park police said the University of Colorado students trashed two Super 8 motel rooms. Damage, which topped $10,000, included giant holes in walls, ripped-down ceiling fans, broken furniture, ruined electrical units, and blood and vomit throughout, according to the motel manager.Delta Chi has until March 30 to appeal.
