Leslie Fishbein, the president of Kacey Fine Furniture, familiar for her commercials in newspapers and on television, was on life support Friday, according to a published report.

The Denver Post reported Friday that Fishbein was put on life support after complications following back surgery, but a hospital spokeswoman denied that back surgery had taken place.

The Fishbein famly released a statement that said she was admitted to Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center on Tuesday after receiving treatment at a physician’s private office.

The two-sentence statement did not go into detail about what treatment she was undergoing or what her current medical condition is.

Fishbein, 55, is a Colorado native and has said that she has lived her entire life within a 25-mile radius of where she was born. She often talked about her childhood, riding a horse to the McDonalds at Colorado and Mississippi, near her home.

When she was asked once what she hoped she would be remembered for, she said: "For being kind, caring and energetic -- but funny, and certainly not boring!"

Fishbein's husband, Sam Fishbein, is CEO of Kacey Fine Furniture.

"The Fishbein family asks that everyone respect their privacy at this difficult time," the statement said.
