A high-pressure gas line broke Tuesday afternoon after authorities said it was hit by a construction crew.

As a precaution, several businesses were evacuated around the intersection of South Broadway and Arapahoe Road in Littleton.

Police closed the intersection and traffic was diverted through the neighborhood.

Xcel Energy workers could be seen working on the break, but did not have an estimate as to when the intersection would reopen.

Littleton Police reported the gas line was hit around 4 p.m.

No injuries were reported.
