UPDATED: 4:11 pm MST January 21, 2008

A 33-year-old Kansas man died Sunday at Breckenridge ski resort.

He was identified Monday as James McLean, a doctor from Leawood, Kansas.

Witnesses reported that he was in the Park Lake Terrain Park and went airborne, landing on the top of his head.

Breckenridge Ski Patrol got the call around 2 p.m. and took McLean to the Breckenridge Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The coroner said he died from a fractured neck.

A spokesman for University of Kansas Medical Center said McLean was a resident there and was board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation.

McLean was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, police spokeswoman Nicky DeFord said.
