Three Students On Snowboarding Trip Killed After Crash

Teen From Steamboat Springs Among Those Killed

A teen from Colorado Springs was killed after a highway crash in Idaho Friday.

Idaho State Police said Ann Barney of Steamboat Springs died when the Isuzu Rodeo she was riding in went out of control, slid into oncoming traffic and a was hit by a Chevrolet Suburban.

Two other people riding in the Isuzu were killed and one other passenger was injured, police said.

The driver of the Suburban, Lea Barnes of Lakewood, Wash., is listed in serious condition at a local hospital.

Troopers at the scene said slick roads and excessive speed were likely factors in the crash, reported KXLY. Troopers were also looking into whether alcohol was a factor.

All four people in the Isuzu were students at Washington State University, heading to Schweitzer Mountain Resort for a snowboarding trip.
