COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Newly released 911 tapes provide more details about into what happened Dec. 9, 2007, when Matthew Murray opened fire at New Life Church.

Colorado Spring police released the tapes Friday, and for the first time, the public can hear the emotion and confusion from victims and witnesses while it was happening.

The calls begin moments after the first shots were fired.

After Rachel and Stephanie Works were fatally shot and their father, David, was hit, their sister Laurie, called 911 while shots were still being fired inside the church.

"There's a shooting at New Life Church. There's someone shooting at us," she told the dispatcher. "We have two people down. There are two, three people shot with my family. We can't move. They're shooting inside the tent."

Another caller said she could see a man shooting at cars as she spoke.

"I'm driving as fast as I can right now. And he has a big gun. And he just shot a car right by me," the caller said.

Inside the church, people trapped and hiding in classrooms whispered information to dispatchers, telling dispatchers critical details about the shooter and their locations.

"I just heard shots fired and someone ran in and said there was a shooter," a woman named Kim whispered. "I'm behind the stage, behind the stage."

A security officer made the first call to report the shooter had been stopped.

Dispatcher: Did you see who did the shooting?
Security Officer: He's dead. We shot him.
Dispatcher: Who shot him?
Security Officer: One of our security.

Through it all, the tapes showed many callers thanked God and prayed.
