DENVER -- This Sunday, 100 foreclosed Colorado homes will go on the auction block. Experts say if you have the money or the credit, you could find a real deal. The homes -- once part of a family's American dream -- are all foreclosed. A 1,900-square-foot home with three baths and two and a half bedrooms in the Sterling Hills subdivision in Aurora is just one of the hundred homes up for auction Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Colorado Convention Center."This home was originally on the market for $204,000. It didn't sell. Now, opening bids will begin at $85,000," said Marty Clouser, with Kennedy Wilson Auction Group, the group holding the auction.
The record foreclosure rate has put Colorado's real estate market in a tail spin. Opening bids for homes in the coming auction range from $5,500 to $375,000 for homes valued at close to $900,000.To look at the home up for auction, go to copropertyauction.com.
