Student Questioned After Conifer High Bomb Scare

CONIFER, Colo. -- A 14-year-old boy was arrested Tuesday after a bomb scare forced the evacuation of Conifer High SchoolStudents were sent to the school's football field just after 8:30 a.m., while the Jefferson County Bomb Squad searched the school for explosives.The student who was arrested allegedly told another student on a school bus that he had an explosive device with him.
By the time school officials became aware of the threat students were already in class.The boy said he had a device in a case in his locker, according to Melissa Reeves, of the Jefferson County School District. She said the bomb squad opened the case and it did not contain a bomb.Students were allowed to return to classes about a little more than an hour after they were evacuated.The 14-year-old was being questioned by sheriff's deputies.
