DENVER -- Prosecutors say a suspected robber who got in a shootout with undercover officers at a Vietnamese restaurant in Denver is scheduled for an advisement hearing Tuesday. Phoung Dang was formally charged Friday with first-degree assault on a peace officer, first-degree assault, menacing, attempted aggravated robbery and possession of a weapon by a previous offender in the shootout earlier this month. Prosecutors said the 26-year-old intended to rob the restaurant but was shot by two officers who happened to be eating there.
One officer was treated for glass in his eye. A father, mother and son eating at the restaurant were hit by the officers' gunfire.
