Dry November Leaves Ski Resorts Wanting More

Skiers and Snowboarders Excited For Season

Sunday's forecast of snow is welcome news for ski resorts.

The warm and dry November has been frustrating after a wet October allowed resorts to open early.

"We need some bad," said Roger Bielz, who was spending his Sunday at Loveland.

Temperatures were in the 60's and besides snow on the peaks, the drive to the high country felt like June.

"I think it is a little early," said John Urdi with Colorado Ski Country USA. "Nobody is really worried."

"Last year we started off with a great bang at the end of November and it really just continued on through the season and last year we ended up with over 34 feet of snow at some of the resorts," said Urdi.

But boarders and skiers are ready for the snow now.

"Snows pretty good," said Zach Hyatt. "A little frozen in spots, but not too bad."

Snow enthusiasts who did not make it to the mountains spent the day at the Colorado Convention Center for the Ski and Snowboard Expo.

Urdi said they had a great turnout and if sales are indicative of the future ski and board season, the resorts will do fine.
