DENVER -- Denver police arrested two suspects who will be charged for taking part in a fight over a parking space where one man was shot in the stomach and another assaulted.

Police said the shooting took place on Nov. 5 in the 1500 block of Stout Street.

Denver police told 7NEWS the victim was shot as he sat in a car at about 10 p.m. He was hit in the stomach and sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The other victim was physically assaulted, police said.

Within a few hours, Denver police arrested Ockey Peterson, 33, and after investigating arrested Calvin Kosik, 26.

Peterson is being held on felony menacing and Ockey for assault in the first-degree and felony menacing, Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson said.

Both suspects were arrested without incident, Jackson said.
