Rockies Fans Rally For The Team
Thousands Show Up in Purple And Black To Say Thank You
DENVER, Colo. -- The Colorado Rockies got rocked in the World Series but the celebration of their remarkable season "rocked on" in downtown Denver.
Whether they were born a fan or they just jumped on the bandwagon, the Rockies fan faithful showed up at Skyline Park for the Rockies Rally.
The conditions were cold but that didn't prevent Leilani Renteria from showing up to the party.
"Yeah it's cold, but I want to come out and celebrate with my team. I'm very, very proud of them," said Renteria.
Fans were proud but Denver's mayor was beaming.
"I'm still a fan. To get a moment like this where you get to celebrate with the team and community and see how much it meant to the community, yeah it was worth it," said John Hickenlooper.
The lovefest didn't stop there. We spoke with Rockies outfielder Ryan Spilborghs who said the rally meant a lot to the team as well.
"It just goes to show how special our season was and when everything is said and done we made some special history and for these people to come out support us. It's amazing," said Spilborghs.
While the team didn't win the World Series, many said this year's team definitely won over the fans.
