Man Pleads Not Guilty In Boy's Go-Cart Death

POSTED: 5:16 am MDT October 30, 2007

A man accused in a hit-and-run collision that killed an 8-year-old Westminster boy in a go-cart pleaded not guilty on Monday.

Prosecutors said Sean Christopher Daniels, 32, was driving a pickup that struck a go-cart carrying Quinton Von Duyke and his 10-year-old brother, Kaeden, on a Westminster street on June 23.

Police said the gasoline-powered go-cart was hit from behind as it was going westbound at 96th Avenue near Pierce Street.

Quinton was died as a result of the crash and Kaeden was injured. Neither was wearing a helmet and only Quinton was wearing a seat belt, police said.

Daniels didn't stop to help and police had to track him down, according to prosecutors. He was arrested in Steamboat Springs, Colo.

He is scheduled to go on trial March 10.
