COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The Colorado Springs man who taunted police with phrases like "come get me" during a chase in March has now pleaded guilty to felony eluding.22-year-old Alexander Craig entered the plea in district court, saying that he was having a mental breakdown at the time.Police received about 10 cell phone calls during a three-hour period in March, when Craig made statements like, "I'm hammered ... come get me."
The man called back at one point and said, "I'm drunk and giving you guys clues and you still haven't found me."About two hours after the calls started, police said Craig pulled up in front of squad cars and quickly drove off, running red lights, driving down the wrong side of the street and jumping medians.Police were finally able to catch him when his car broke down. Even then, police said he was so uncooperative that they had to use a stun gun on him."For somebody to call us -- that's a first in 20 years I'm aware of," said police spokesman Rafael Cintron.Craig is free on $1,000 bond.Sentencing is set for Dec. 10th.
