DENVER -- If you're an early morning commuter, be prepared for some changes as there are more lane closures on Interstate 25.
A six-mile portion of I-25 will be closed in both directions between Hampden and Santa Fe this week.
The closure begins at 9 p.m. and runs until 5:30 a.m. so crews can install concrete girders for the new Franklin Street bridge.
The same closure will take effect on Monday and Tuesday nights. However, crews will not close the interstate until one hour after the Avalanche game on Monday and one hour after the Rockies game on Tuesday.
Cars will be detoured on Hampden Avenue and Santa Fe Drive.
The northbound on-ramp at Evans Avenue is scheduled to remain closed for approximately four months and will include the closure to through traffic of the frontage road directly to the east of the ramp, between Evans Avenue and Colorado Boulevard. The southbound Evans off-ramp will remain closed for approximately two years.
