Fire Crews Make Quick Work Of Blaze

A large field fire was burning north of Denver International Airport llate Monday afternoon.

From AirTracker 7, the fire could be seen spreading through dry grasses, and appeared to be quite large.

The fire was located about 5 miles northeast of the airport was not impacting operations, according to a DIA spokesman. it was first reported shortly before 5 p.m., near 144th Avenue and Imboden Road.

The fire burned in a sparsely-populated area, and smoke from the blaze could be see for miles.

Fire crews had the blaze almost out by 6 p.m.

Another widlfire destroyed several out buildlings in Park County Monday, near Fairplay.

The fire, on a ranch, was apparently started by a welder's torch, according to the Park County Sheriff's Office. There were no injuries from the fire.
