Louisville Parents Plead Not Guilty In Son's Death

Alex, Molly Midyette Have Trials Set

POSTED: 4:16 am MDT July 31, 2007

A Louisville, Colo. couple, whose infant son died after suffering more than 20 broken bones, has pleaded not guilty to child abuse resulting in death.

Alex and Molly Midyette appeared in court for arraignments on Monday. A judge scheduled Molly Midyette's trial for Dec. 10 and Alex Midyette's trial for Jan. 10.

Police said the couple's 10-week-old son, Jason, was taken to the doctor's office by his parents, who complained the baby was not himself. He died 10 days later on March 3, 2006.

The Boulder County coroner determined Jason died from a head injury in a homicide.

Doctors also found more than 20 broken bones. The coroner ruled out a brittle-bone medical condition.

A grand jury indicted the couple after a seven-month investigation.
