The search for a missing woman in Grand Junction is moving to the Grand Mesa area, officials said.Paige Birgfeld, 34, was last seen on June 28. Her Ford Focus was found on fire July 1.Lester Jones, 56, has been named a person of interest in the case. Investigators have searched his home twice looking for evidence.
Hundreds of searchers and volunteers have combed through the stretch of the highway where her car was found. They found her checkbook and checks scattered in the area.The new search area is rugged, and crews will use four-wheel drive vehicles and horses to get around.Officials have not said what prompted the search to be moved to the area.
