More than 5,700 Front Range homeowners will be getting money back from their mortgage company. Ameriquest is turning over $325 million to homeowners across the country, part of a settlement in 49 states.

Ameriquest specialized in mortgages to customers with risky credit. It was accused of overcharging and misleading customers, inflating appraisals to put them deeper in debt and making loans. Colorado's share of the settlement is a little more than $8 million.

How do you know if you're eligible for the refund?

The state attorney general's office will be sending out claim forms to Ameriquest customers who are eligible for the refunds.
