A lone man armed with a small handgun got away after robbing a Bank of the West in Greeley on Monday, Greeley police officials said.

The bank in the 1100 block of 11th Street was robbed around 4:15 p.m. Police said the robber fled on foot westbound on 11th Street before officers had arrived at the bank.

Police said the robber may have driven a 90s model gold-colored General Motors product sedan that was seen speeding off just after the robbery.

The robber is described as white and wearing sunglasses and a dark ball cap as seen in a surveillance photo that police released.
