Fort Collins Teen Killed In Crash With Semi
Community Comes Together To Mourn Loss

FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- Hundreds of students and parents gathered outside Rocky Mountain High School in Fort Collins Saturday night to mourn the loss of 17-year-old Kayla Adsit.Adsit died Friday night when the car she was riding in collided with a semi on a rain-soaked Highway 287, the Colorado State Patrol said.Friends remembered her smile and her generous spirit. She was active in Rocky Mountain High School's band and choir programs, and took part in several mission trips through her church. She had planned to attend Colorado State University in the fall.
"She was a beautiful person, inside and out. She had a gorgeous smile," said Ashley Seaton.Seaton worked with Adsit at the local Panera."Anytime I worked with her, I knew I was going to have a good day," she added.Adsit was riding with her friend, 17-year-old Myan Smith, when the crash happened. Smith was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but has since been released.
