LAKEWOOD, Colo. -- Two women were rushed to the hospital Friday after they were attacked by pit bulls owned by their family.
Lakewood police said that they were called to the 1100 block of South Eaton and found one woman with "fairly significant" injuries and the other with puncture wounds. She was listed in good condition at Swedish Medical Center Friday afternoon.
Lakewood Animal Control said two male pit bulls were fighting over a female pit bull when the two women tried to separate them. The family said the dogs had never been a problem before Friday.
The two male dogs had severe injuries and had to be put to sleep, according to the Lakewood Police Department.
